Hi--
I'm Father James Rosselli, Rector of our Mission.
We're a house of prayer ministry, and we welcome any who wish to join us
for prayer at our regular times (excluding Matins), or for private prayer, confession
and counseling, or just to drop in for coffee.
Our vision is for a House of Prayer community, a place where people can gather for prayer both formal and informal; for spiritual growth in radical commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God and God the Son; for hospitality and for friendship; a place of refuge, where people can safely and confidently
seek the Lord, without Doctrinal confusion or spiritual insecurity. We're simple and familiar, serving
Western Liturgy and practice, but that makes us no less Orthodox, with the stability of two thousand years of uninterrupted relationship with the Lord.
SJA is a "stavropegial" parish (a parish directly under a jurisdictional Primate or First Hierarch rather than a local Bishop). We are blessed to be under the omophor (protection) of His Eminence, Metropolitan +Hilarion, First Hierarch of ROCOR.
You can find us on the ROCOR Directory, here: http://directory.stinnocentpress.com/viewclergy.cgi?Uid=689&lang=en

COMMUNITY
The Early Church didn't grow to cover the face of the earth by encouraging bureaucracies, but by

encouraging people. The Church grew by planting communities, and those communities were places of refuge and refreshment, of learning and spiritual growth, of healing and encouragement. First and foremost they were places of prayer and hospitality, where a weary traveler or a seeking pilgrim could find a place to draw aside for a while, or stay to minister, and where those in need of prayer knew they could find help.
In our own small way we endeavor quietly live within this tradition and endeavor to carry it on. To find out how, go to "About us" on the task bar, above.
PRAYER FOR PEOPLE
Every day, several times a day, we place peoples' needs in prayer--both in our daily Eucharistic Liturgy and at other times of prayer during the day. If you have a need, we'd love to pray with you. If you would like your prayer request placed on our Altar, please e-mail us at: frjames@arimatheachurch.com. Just put "prayer request" in the subject line. All correspondence is confidential
PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY
Our nation's ills are not, finally, rooted in fiscal irresponsibility but in cultural depravity. We have in large part turned away from God, and have thereby turned away from His protection. We have turned instead to the tools of self--but these have no power. They are transitory and flawed, and cannot protect us against the spiritual powers that work toward our destruction. We need prayer, and Godly action, to restore our nation's capacity to restore the American Dream. The dream was always rooted in God, not mammon, and that is what made us the most successful nation in history. We were a successful nation because we had a Godly culture. We pray--and work--to restore the culture, that God may restore the nation.
